Register a business PAN
Bring this as a reminder when preparing for the official application or office visit.
1. Before submitting
- I confirmed the correct taxpayer and business registration category.
- I checked current business documents and verification instructions with IRD.
- I will use the official taxpayer registration route and keep its records.
2. Documents to prepare or confirm
“Official guidance” = supported by a cited authority; “Confirm” = a preparation suggestion, not an established mandatory requirement.
- Business registration and ownership records requested by selected IRD office (Confirm with office)
- Application submission reference (Confirm with office)
3. Field cross-check reminders
Do not write identity numbers, passwords or other personal details on this sheet. Compare privately with original records and the official portal.
Business PAN
Compare with: The business registration documents and office requirements on IRD.
Avoid: Assuming personal PAN documents alone complete business registration.
Taxpayer category
Compare with: The relevant IRD personal or business registration guidance.
Avoid: Selecting business PAN for individual salary income, or the reverse, without checking.
Official submission channel
Compare with: The IRD Taxpayer Portal or officially supported app route for your circumstances.
Avoid: Providing login credentials or identity scans to an unofficial intermediary.
4. Confirm your office or programme
- Personal PAN: the IRD describes online application and, for the taxpayer-portal route, office verification; Nagarik App may provide a different issuance path.
- Business PAN: select the appropriate Inland Revenue/Taxpayer Service Office and confirm its registration requirements.
