Understand what pre-enrolment does
The Department of National ID and Civil Registration provides an online pre-enrolment system for entering identity information before an in-person visit. Completing the online form does not by itself finish biometric registration or issue a physical National ID card.
Copy details from official records
Enter names, dates, citizenship information, family details and address exactly as supported by your records. Do not guess a spelling or translate a name differently merely to complete the form. Resolve a material mismatch with the responsible authority before relying on the submitted record.
Save the application information
Review the form before submission and save or print the application information produced by the system. Keep any reference number and appointment or office details. Do not post the completed form publicly because it contains personal identity information.
Attend document and biometric enrolment
Follow the portal's current instruction for the location and time of the in-person step. Take the original identity documents requested for your case. At the enrolment point, confirm the displayed personal data before biometrics are recorded.
Check current instructions before travelling
Office availability and appointment arrangements can change. Confirm them in the official system shortly before visiting. Nepal Answers does not operate the enrolment portal and cannot issue an identity number or card.
