Nepal passport print & collection status

Find out how to check whether your e-passport has progressed, been issued, or is ready to collect. NepalAnswers helps you interpret the process; the official Department of Passports provides the actual result.

We do not ask for or store citizenship numbers, DOB, surnames, application references or barcode images.

STEP 1 · USE AN OFFICIAL METHOD

Choose how to check your passport

Option A · Department of Passports website

  1. Open the official Department of Passports page below.
  2. Find Check passport status with details.
  3. Enter citizenship number, birth date in AD, birthplace and surname there.
  4. Submit the official form and read the reported result.

Do not enter citizenship or passport numbers into third-party web forms that claim to retrieve government records. The official website and app control the live status.

Search verified district passport receipt notices

Some Nepal district offices publish lists of passports received for distribution. Browse actual government notices here without providing your citizenship number, passport number or date of birth. Only selected districts and dates are listed, not all passport applications.

The local name lookup requires editor-reviewed PDF records to be imported into NepalAnswers. A matching published name does not conclusively identify a person or replace a live government status check.

STEP 2 · UNDERSTAND THE RESULT

What does your passport status mean?

Select the wording closest to what the official service showed. This guidance does not verify or change your status.

    STEP 3 · COLLECT SAFELY

Don't travel until collection is confirmed

A passport can be printed or issued without being available at your district office or embassy yet. Check the collection instructions for the location where you applied. Overseas dispatch may take additional time.

The Canberra instructions are for applications processed through that embassy; other missions and Nepal offices may have different collection rules.

    Useful official resources

The pre-enrolment follow-up search is for retrieving applications before enrolment; it is not a passport printing-status checker.
